Pater Margolis

Peter Margolis of Philadelphia, PA was born on eastern Long Island, NY and spent 12

formative years in Israel, where he visits every couple of years and is active in Israeli

academic and cultural affairs. He earned both his BA in Jewish History of the Biblical

Period and MA in Contemporary American Jewry at the Hebrew University of

Jerusalem, Israel.

While working as an online learning professional for over 25 years, Peter designed,

developed, and taught in-person, online, and hybrid courses on Jewish history and

religion, both regionally and internationally. He is fluent in English and Hebrew, and can

read French reasonably well (preferably with a French-English dictionary within arm's

reach at all times). In 2022, he completed a doctorate on Digital Judaism and teaches,

lectures, and publishes on Jewish topics. He sees Jewish art as the visual and tactile

referent of the Jewish civilization that is his lifelong interest, and is delighted to join

Jewish Art Education as a presenter in the Greater Philadelphia area.
